Puppet Theater

Kartuli Geni created a special cultural and artistic space for immigrant children and families through Georgian-language puppet theater in America, founded by Nino Imedadze.
The idea behind the puppet theater is much deeper than entertainment. It was created to help children growing up abroad stay emotionally connected to:
the Georgian language, Georgian culture and traditions, imagination and creativity, kindness, friendship, and storytelling, and the emotional warmth of childhood theater. For immigrant families, Georgian puppet theater also becomes a cultural bridge between generations. Children hear the Georgian language, experience Georgian music and traditions, and feel connected to their roots while growing up in America.
In New York and across America, puppet theater has long been recognized as an important educational and artistic form for children’s development. Historic puppet theaters and marionette productions have been part of American cultural life for decades.

## About

Kartuli Geni is a New York–based cultural and theatrical organization founded by Nino Imedadze. Our mission is to preserve, promote, and celebrate Georgian culture, language, music, and storytelling through theater, education, and artistic productions for both children and adults.
We create emotional, meaningful, and culturally rich performances that bring together diaspora families and audiences from different backgrounds through the universal language of art.
Our work includes:
theatrical productions, children’s musical theater, puppet theater, cultural events and festivals, acting and creative education, and projects that connect Georgian heritage with contemporary artistic expression.
One of our most recognized productions is Delayed Motherhood — a powerful stage drama dedicated to immigrant mothers and inspired by true stories. Through productions like this, we aim to tell stories that touch the heart, inspire reflection, and strengthen cultural identity within the community.
Kartuli Geni is also proud to support young talent by creating creative spaces where children can discover confidence, imagination, language, music, movement, and the joy of performing arts.
Our vision is to build bridges between cultures, generations, and communities through authentic storytelling and artistic excellence.
